RYAN’S TOP TIPS FOR SETTING UP YOUR STUDY/WORK DESK AT HOME

SETTING UP YOUR WORKSTATION:
Have a defined work area, ideally a desk, kitchen or trestle table.
AVOID working from the couch, your bed or a bench
SEATING
Ideally use a comfortable office chair with good back support
Have the back of your chair upright
Sit back and lean into the chair to help support your back
Tuck your chair in close to your work space, feet flat on the floor
LAPTOP /PC SET UP
Have the top of your screen at eye level, if it is too low. Try propping your computer up with books or boxes.
Use a separate keyboard and mouse
Have your elbows comfortably at your side, not reaching too far out in front.
Don’t poke your chin out
STANDING, STRETCHING & PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Be sure to get up and go for a walk every 30 minutes, even if its to the kitchen and back. Stretch your neck, shoulders, back and legs to avoid being in the one posture for most of the day.
Keep your physical activity up – choose something that you will enjoy doing.
Stay hydrated and eat healthy snacks.
