Aquatic Physiotherapy programs at MYPHYSIO® in Bentleigh
Our customised Hydrotherapy programs are developed after a one-on-one in-room consultation with one of our highly-skilled Physiotherapists.
Once your condition has been assessed, an individualised programme is developed for you. Your program is safely and successfully initiated via a 1:1 Hydrotherapy session with your therapist. Once sufficiently established, your Hydrotherapy program can then be performed through additional one-on-one Aquatic Physiotherapy consultations or, if appropriate, in group Physiotherapist-led classes held in our onsite facilities.
Reliable and efficient care at MYPHYSIO®:
The state-of-the-art Hydrotherapy pool at GESAC is a massive 200 sq. and boasts a UV chlorination system. It has a ramp and hoist access. The pool runs at 34-35 degrees – perfect for Aquatic exercise!
Warm water increases blood circulation and reduces muscle spasms assisting in pain relief. Additional oversite of Hydrotherapy sessions is provided by trained Lifeguards
Contraindications or Precautions relevant to Hydrotherapy:
Whilst Hydrotherapy at MYPHYSIO® in Bentleigh can have multiple health benefits, certain physical conditions may restrict a person from participating in this form of treatment and may require additional assessment or medical clearance including:
- Select cardiac conditions or respiratory issues
- Uncontrolled epilepsy
- Open wounds, active skin conditions and infectious conditions
- Impaired breath control
- People with respiratory issues
- Hyperdependency
- Incontinence
- Poorly regulated blood pressure
- Fear of water
In addition to our regular private clientele, we offer services to patients under team care arrangements with GPs (the EPC/CDM program – Medicare Australia supported – out-of-pocket costs may apply), the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), WorkCover, TAC, and NDIS supported clients.
Our Hydrotherapy services are recognised by most Private Health Insurers and attract extras rebates.
